A frustrating game from a spectators point of view with the Anvils going behind twice 1-0 and 2-1 and against the run of play. Ash Utd went ahead in the 13th minute with their first venture into the Anvils penalty area with CDG getting back in it with a superb lob from Adam Lonsdale. 1-1 but two mins later Ash Utd went ahead again from a cross which keeper Cash failed to hold and it sailed into the back of the Anvil net. HT: 2-1 Ash Utd.
A few changes to the Anvils 2nd half upped their tempo and it wasn't long before Lewis Gould netted to bring the game level 2-2. Another few changes from the Anvils bench brought on Ricardo Silva and Michael Spence. Ricardo had an immediate effect with a superb cross finding Rhys White who made no mistake putting the Anvils ahead 3-2. Both sides made further changes from the bench and worked hard until the final whistle.
Good luck to Ash Utd for the rest of the season and thanks for the hospitality provided.
Anvils are away to Molesey in the 2nd Qual Rd on 21th Sept.
Anvils through to the 2nd Rd of the RUR Charity Cup after a 4-2 win over Roffey.
Roffey got off to a great start scoring after just 4 mins and held the lead until HT. 2nd Half the Anvils dominated with a Josh Alder hat trick on 42,62&78 Mins. Roffey got a 2nd on 70mins with Lewis Gould hit Anvils 4th on 83mins. Anvils home to Midhurst & Easebourne in the next Rd.
The Anvils were knocked out of the FA Cup at the Prel rd stage losing to Isthmian Club Steyning Town. However it was a match of 2 halves with the Anvils in control first half going 1-0 up through Josh Alder after just 6 mins and creating many more chances throughout the half which were not capitalised on. Steyning went in at HT 0-1 down and at that stage didn't look as though they had an answer to the lively Anvils contiuous pressure.
2nd half Anvils started as they left off but Steyning were given a life line as a couple of mistakes early in the 2nd half turned the tables giving steyning a 2-1 lead in a 3min spell on 49 & 52 mins. Those early 2nd half goals changed the game completely as Steyning from then on in controled the match scoring again on 66mins, The Anvils had a few chances and a stone wall Penalty turned down which could have got them back into the game. But it wasnt to be.
Good luck to Steyning Town in the next round.
A pulsating game of football against a good Eastbourne Utd side. The match could have gone either way with both sides dominating periods of play. Anvils started the brighter scoring after 4 Mins through Lewis Gould. EBU controlled the rest of the half going in with a 1-2 lead at HT. 2nd Half Anvils drew level on 48mins through Rhys White & Lewis Pittock put the Anviks back in front 3-2 on 68mins. More chances came and went for both sides until the final whistle.
Anvils win 3-0 v Little Common. Dominant display from the Anvils, although frustrated 1st half by the defensive set up by Little Common they finally found a way through in the 2nd half with Callum Kilkenny 2 and Louis Gates finding the back of the net.
Very good competitive game against Newhaven with the lead changing hands throughout.
Newhaven went ahead on 22mins but just 2mins later an own goal from Newhaven leveled the score. HT 1-1
2nd half Newhaven took the lead just after the restart 1-2 before Jack Ryder Scored for the Anvils with an unstoppable header. Jack then hit another just 2mins later 3-2 Anvils. On 70 mins Newhaven broke away and leveled 3-3 before Josh Alder hit the winner 4mins later. Good result for the Anvils and with a large crowd watching they did not disappoint.
Anvils advance to the Prel Rd of the FA Cup with a hard fought win over Holmesdale. Lewis Gould scored the only goal of the game on 36mins with Anvils dominating the 1st period. 2nd half Anvils started brightly but were forced into some desperate defending for most of the half which Holmesdale were unable to breach. Alex Bellingham's capped it all with an excellent penalty save on 59 mins. MOM Lewis Gould. Anvils visit Isthmian side Steyning Town in the Prel Rd On Sat 17th Aug 3pm K/O.

Anvils U18's lose out to Worthing Utd in the Champions league final. Worthing went 3 up 1st half before the Anvils really got going. 2nd period Anvils pulled 2 back through Lewis Gould and Alex Tidy but could not find the equaliser.
Well done to Worthing Utd.
