Good win for Anvils U18 Girls over Hollingbury Hawks

Anvils and Newhaven played out a very tight game with both sides having several chances.
Newhaven went in front after a misplaced pass back caused a one on one. 1-0 NH
Anvils pressure finally told just before the break with Newhaven giving away a penalty which Oli Leslie dispatched to make it one apiece at HT.
NewHaven from a corner on 49mins found an unmarked player at the far post who nodded home 1-2 Newhaven. Much of the 2nd half was end to end with chances for both sides. Intense pressure from the Anvils in the last 10 mins but Newhaven held out for the win. Good luck to Newhaven in the next round.

Anvils have comfortable victory at Loxwood FC
Goal Scorers: Max Greenward, Finley Wigmore, Scott Budgen, Charley Moss

U18 Girls loose 4-1 to a good Hastings side but they competed well. The final score didn't reflect the effort the girls put in and a little more luck would have seen a much closer result

Anvild dominated the 1st period going in at HT 2-0 up with goals from Josh Alder on 23 mins & George Falzon 35 mins. However tables turned in favour of Roffey in the 2nd half with 2 goals in 3mins, 70th and 73rd minute, and the winner in added time 93rd minute. The Anvils did have chances to put the game to bed early in the 2nd half and late on but were unable to convert.

Forest Row 5 CDG 3
Excellent match tonight at Three Bridges FC
Forest Row took the honours in the 1st period always looking dangerous up front. They took the lead on 6mins and went further ahead 2-0 on 26mins. Luca Intelligenza got one back for the Anvils just on HT. 2-1
Forest Row started the 2nd half as they left off scoring twice on 49 & 52 mins 4-1 FR. Anvils picked up their game from then on in Oli Leslie scoring twice on 54 & 71mins 4-3 FR. At this point Forest Row were reeling with constant Anvils pressure but despite the many chances they were unable to get on terms. FR broke away in the 97th minute to settle the match. 5-3 in their favour.

CDGFC U18s started their Sussex County Cup campaign with a resounding 8 nil win over Lancing United U17's Colts Red. Goalscorers were George Ferrar, Jake Nevil, and a brace from Scott Budgen, Alejandro Roque and Kryspin Olesiak. CDGFC U18s have been drawn away against Bosham U18s in the next round.

Anvils started well but Forest Row always looked more dangerous going forward.
Row went one up probably against the run of play after 15mins, scoring direct from a corner 0-1. Row continued to press hard causing a pass back error in Midfield which let in Forest Row with a one on one to make it 0-2 after 24mins.
HT 0-2 FR
2nd half and lots of changes gave the Anvils more posession and chances came their way throughout the half. FR also had chances but no further goals 2nd half. Last 20 mins Anvils went down to 10 men after a 2nd yellow which appeared to snap them into action and the tempo of their game increased masively. However FR held on for a justified win. Goodluck to Forest Row in the next round.

A minuted applause was well attended by Family and Supporters for former Colleague & Vice President Colin MacCleaster who sadly passed away recently after a long illness.

Colin MacCleaster
It is with the saddest of hearts that I let you all know that we sadly lost a legend of our football family this week Colin MacCleaster.
Colin played many roles within the club over the years and was one of the driving forces in uniting the three Crawley Down clubs to create the wonderful club we now know. He also played a pivotal part in many local football leagues and with the youth back in the 80's. He was also the reason I joined the club back in the mid 80's, as he offered me a pathway into adult football. A journey which has created memories that are a huge part of my life and will live on as some of my fondest.
As I said, Colin played many roles in the club over the years and was a huge supporter on and off the pitch. I can honestly say that he was a huge part of the foundations that created everything we have today. We will always be thankful to him and his family, and he will be sorely and lovingly missed.
We extend our sympathies to Rita, Alan Suzanne, Julie and all their family and friends, and will observe a minute's applause before the match this evening, which is the least we can do. RIP Colin and thank you for giving me the memories and the opportunity to be where I am now.

Match Report: CDG U18’s 2 Horsham FC U18’s 3
CDGFC U18s started their league campaign against defending champions Horsham this Sunday.
The spectators were treated to a very entertaining game with CDGFC taking the lead through George Ferrar after a lovely through ball from Rodrigo Morales. Unfortunately, Horsham answered back just before HT to make it 1-1. The second half saw Horsham gain 2 further goals before Rodrigo Morales pulled one back with a low drive into the corner from just inside the 18-yard box to make it 3-2. CDGFC pushed for an equaliser and had chances but couldn't get it done before full-time. MOM for CDGFC was Finley Mott.
