Cracking game at Wembley FC with the Anvils through to the FA Vase 2nd Rd after winning 2-0. Anvils Scorers were Oli Leslie and Jake Neaves. Great hospitality from Wembley FC with the team staying well after the game had finished and again at The Haven after the long trip back home. Good to see the support from the Anvils supporters who contributed to the win.
Anvils go down 1-3 to Wick. The game went against them right from the start when their keeper was adjudged to have fouled outside the box and sent off early on. So down to 10 for most of the match. Oli Leslie took over the keepers role. Wick went 2-0 up by HT. 2nd half both teams played well in pouring rain. Wick made it 3 -0 on 78mins before the Anvils scored from a penalty 1-3 on 83mins. Wick also went down to 10 men at that point but the Anvils could not reduce the arrears.

The Anvils progress to the 3rd Rd of this prestigious Sussex Transport Senior Cup competition with a 2-1 victory over Pagham.
Pagham started the brighter of the two sides early on and deservedly took the lead after 16mins. The Anvils rallied scoring on 38mins through Josh Alder and again 5mins later through Michael Belli. HT: 2-1 CDG.
2nd Half again Pagam started well and created several chances which were not converted. The Anvils were the better side towards the end. Close contest with the Anvils going through to the 3rd Rd draw. MOM: Michael Belli.
CDG always looked the the more likely to score throughout the match. Josh Alder opened the Anvils account on 38mins and then hit another after 56mins, Sammy Clements made it 3-0 midway through the 2nd half and Lingfield got a consolation goal right at the end of the match.
MOM: Josh Alder.
Anvils overwhelmed Peacehaven in the 2nd half after an evenly contested 1st period. With both sides deadlocked at 0-0.
The Anvils scored 4 without reply in the 2nd half. Sam Clements 2, Ben Chowney and Ricardo De Ponte Silva scored for the Anvils MOM Michael Spence.
Anvils were not at the races against what has become their bogey side over the past few seasons, losing twice to them last season the streak continued with a 1-0 loss with a goal scored just before the HT break.
Haywards Heath took the game to CDG right from the start forcing them to play deep inside their own half. At this point HH were in total control and scored on 25 & 43 mins to lead at HT. 2-0
2nd Half CDG started to compete but went down to 10 men after a sin bin offence and HH added one more to their total. Once Callum came back on and Pitcher & Schaaf came on the Anvils started to take control playing much higher game and getting behind the HH defence. Charlie Pitcher scored for the Anvils on 78 mins and Heath sarted to look vulnerable. However HH played out the last 15 mins but were 2nd best at that stage but the Anvils couldn't convert their chances.
Anvils 18's dominated the first half but could only find the back of the net once to go in at HT 1-0 up.
2nd Half although Steyning did start to get on top the Anvils score twice more to win the match. 3-1
Anvils & Molesey played out a very competitive match keenly contested throughout. The Anvils probably had the best of the 1st half and should have been a couple of goals clear at HT. Molesey however turned the tables and mostly controlled the 2nd half. Molesey went ahead on 58mins 1-0 and could have increased that lead but a late Anvils rally levelled the scores on 77 through Sammy Clements. So to Pens to decide the outcome. Alex Bellingham kept out two Pens and with all 4 Anvils pens being converted a win on pens for the Anvils 4-2.
Great Hospitality from the Molesey committee and we wish then good luck for the rest of the season.
Anvils progress to the 3rd Rd of the Sussex County RUR Charity Cup with a 2-1 win over Midhurst & Easebourne.
